History
Introduction
The Base Agent service monitors the changes that occur in both the configuration and in live events as they happen. These are all shown in the History tab.Â
Filter
As a default, the History page shows all events only for the current session meaning since the Base Agent service was started.
This can be changed on the drop-down menu. If you are trying to understand a particular behavior of the service, you might want to see 'Last session', what has happened today, Yesterday or last week.
Type
The type of events that occur can be either be configuration changes like CacheMinFreeGB changed from 5 to 10 GB or it may be that the service for some reason lost the connection to the Front-end Server.
Info
eThe service keeps track of all service events but only the last 3.000 status events (can be configured to values between 2.000 and 10.000).
All of this information is also present in the file log but it is easily drowning in all the details being written to the log plus; the log file is moved into the \history folder when the service is restarted. By explicitly keeping track of the events happening, it's possible to go back in time and see information about the service that might be useful.Â
By selecting the 'Show all' filter it is possible to see when the Base Agent was first installed, what version was installed when it was updated to a newer version, how it enrolled into the installation and the configuration that it initiated with.
