APN Payload

Description

This payload can be used to allow a device to connect through a specified Access Point Name



Important

Please check MDM features to see if APN is supported by the enrollment type of the device.

NB! If you enrolled as Device Owner, the fields Access Point Name, Authentication type, Mobile country code and

A mobile network code is mandatory.

Access Point User name

This string specifies the user name for this APN.

If the access point needs user authentication, the user name must be written here.



Access Point Password

The password for the user for this APN.

If the access point needs authentication, the password must be written here.



Proxy Server

The IP address or URL of the APN proxy.

If access goes through a proxy server, the URL must be given here.

The port number for the APN proxy.

If access goes through a proxy server, the proxy server port must be written here.

This setting references a Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) gateway server for phones that cannot access or render standard websites.

MMS port number

The port used by the MMS proxy.

If access goes through a proxy server, the proxy server port must be written here.

Multimedia Messaging Server (MMS) proxy address. This is an HTTP proxy server for MMS traffic.

MMSC. This is a multimedia messaging service server for MMS traffic. MMS succeeded SMS for sending larger messages with multimedia content, such as pictures or videos.

APN type

This setting must match the carrier's intended use for the access point. APN service specifiers must match the wireless carrier's published definitions: 

  • MMS. Multimedia traffic goes through this access point.
  • default. All traffic, including multimedia, goes through this access point.
  • supl. Secure User Plane Location is associated with assisted GPS.
