E-Mail Delivery

If you have set up access to an SMTP server in the PerformanceGuard web interface (ADMINISTRATION > Setup > SMTP), PerformanceGuard can automatically send reports and notifications to recipients (ADMINISTRATION > Event Management > Notification Recipients) via e-mail.
You can keep track of such e-mails in the following ways:
View List of Sent E-Mails
To view a list of e-mails sent by PerformanceGuard, view the pguard.email_delivery_log table in the pguard database (that is the backend server database).
The table may list three types of sent e-mails:
- Type 1: Reports
- Type 2: Notifications
- Type 3: Test e-mails (that you can send during notification recipient setup)
The table by default keeps data from the last week. If required you can change the table's keep period in the PerformanceGuard web interface:
- Select ADMINISTRATION > Setup > Parameters.
- Select the Status tab.
- Edit the value of the KEEP_PERIOD_EMAIL_DELIVERY_LOG_DATA parameter. Bear in mind that the value is specified in minutes.
- Click the Save Parameters button.
View List of E-Mails that Haven't Been Sent
If PerformanceGuard was not able to send e-mails, the unsent e-mails will be listed in the following places:
- Reports: To view a list of any unsent report e-mails in the PerformanceGuard web interface, select ADMINISTRATION > Status > System Status and then select the Email Delivery tab.
- Notifications: To view a list of any unset notification e-mails in the PerformanceGuard web interface, select ADMINISTRATION > Event Management > Unsent Notifications.
Data about unsent e-mails is in theory kept indefinitely, but if the SMTP server configured for PerformanceGuard works correctly, you should see little or no such data.
