Server/Port

The Server/Port bar chart (ANALYZE > Graphs > Combined Bar Charts > Server/Port) shows performance information about an application's response time, sent bytes, received bytes, etc. for a particular group of computers. By selecting multiple servers and services, you can compare the behavior of different applications.

In this context an application is one port on one server, for example TCP port 80 (http) on server www.w3.org.
This graph is useful because ... you can compare the performance of a single server across multiple ports, the performance of multiple servers on a specific port, etc.

By selecting multiple servers and services, you can compare the behavior of different applications.

  • Servers: Select which servers to include in the chart. You can select multiple servers if you press the CTRL key while you select the required servers. Only monitored servers are listed, see server administration for details.
  • Ports: Select which ports to include in the chart. You can select multiple ports if you press the CTRL key while you select the required ports. Only monitored ports are listed, see port administration for details.
  • Agents: Select which group of computers that the bar chart should be based on.
  • Type: Determines which type of data the bar chart will contain. The options are described in Graph Terms & Definitions.
  • X-axis Min and Max: Enter the required range for the bar chart's horizontal axis. If you leave the fields empty, the range will automatically reflect the minimum and maximum values found in the data.
  • Interval: Select the period of time that the graph should cover. If the predefined intervals don't suit you, select Custom to specify your own interval.
 Is performance good or bad?
That depends on the type of work that you do in your organization, but you can often follow our rules of thumb.
