What's New in the Server?

AutoSteps

This release includes the new add on functionality called AutoSteps. AutoSteps is a scripting robot that allows for synthetic monitoring.

With synthetic monitoring a whole new range of opportunities is opened for securing fast and reliable IT systems for the end users.

Dashboard sharing and PDF printing

It is now possible to share dashboards directly from the web interface. It is possible to share dashboards as either links to the web interface or as a printer friendly PDF

It is also possible to generate a printer friendly PDF for download to your local computer.



PerformanceGuard 7.3 introduces a two new widgets:

Network Latency Widget

Multiple Ping and traceroute measurements can now be compared for single locations as well as across multiple locations.

AutoSteps Status Widget

To monitor the status of AutoSteps script execution a new widget has been added to provide an intuitive overview.


Miscellaneous improvements

  • Export from graphs in the classic web interface in full resolution has been increased from 33 hours to 45 days.



Browser Support

This version is supported in both Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 as well as Google Chrome.

We recommend using Google Chrome when accessing PerformanceGuard, because this browser is much faster than Internet Explorer 11

Installation and Upgrades

If upgrading from PerformanceGuard 6.6 or earlier the following is required:

If upgrading from PerformanceGuard 6.7 or later:

  • Two web server ports instead of previously one port
    • Used for embedding the parts of the UI that have not yet been replaced by new functionality

Documentation 

The PerformanceGuard documentation is continuously updated and is available online at http://help.capasystems.com.

Within PerformanceGuard, the documentation is available via content-aware links, and updates to the documentation no longer requires an upgrade of the PerformanceGuard software.
