PG 7.0

PerformanceGuard® 7.0 Release Notes

Release date: 2016, November 10th

PerformanceGuard 7.0 is the first version after changing our development strategy to become more agile.

As of this release we will provide smaller releases at a faster pace than previously. This allows us to be more responsive to the feedback we get from our customers.

What's New in the Server?

This version presents a completely new way of accessing the collected data using customizable dashboard with intuitive widgets.

The widgets included in this version are primarily intended for use in Service Desks and a built-in dashboard uses these widgets to give an easy to understand overview of the current state of a computer.

PerformanceGuard also comes with a dashboard showing instructional videos. The dashboard is automatically updated with all the latest videos without having to upgrade PerformanceGuard first.

The built-in dashboards can be copied, modified or deleted by a PerformanceGuard administrator.

PerformanceGuard 7.0 is the first step towards showing all of our data in a modern and intuitive user interface. Not all has been included yet, but we decided that we would not keep our customers from benefiting from the new features already implemented.

The new interface presents an embedded access to all parts of the user interface that does not yet have a widget.

We recommend that you configure SingleSignOn (SSO) for accessing PerformanceGuard as this will make the embedded access seamless.

If desired, it is possible to access the entire classic user interface on a different port - this port is specified during installation/upgrade.

Browser Support

This version is supported in both Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 as well as Google Chrome.

We recommend using Google Chrome when accessing PerformanceGuard as this browser is much faster than Internet Explorer 11

What's New in the Agent?

The following briefly describes improvements on the agent with this release

  • Network connection type - cabled or wireless - is now collected and shown in the 'Computer Info' widget

Installation and Upgrades

If upgrading from PerformanceGuard 6.6 or earlier:

If upgrading from PerformanceGuard 6.7:

  • 2 web server ports instead of previously 1 port
    • Used for embedding the parts of the UI that have not yet been replaced by new functionality

The PerformanceGuard documentation is continuously updated and is available online here.
