Generel settings
Introduction
The General section defines initial values and options for the package. Each of the possible settings is described below. The settings displayed will depend on the template and the generator.
General settings | Description |
Name | Specify the Package name. The Package name will typically be used as the package name depending on the integration. Validation will fail if 'uninstall' is part of the package name. |
Version | Specify a version number for the package. Version number could either be used as the package release or the actual application version |
Description | Enter a short description of the product and/or package. The description will be shown to the end-user if the Installation mode is set to attended/Logoff. |
Installation Time | When the package installation starts the end-user will be informed about installation time. The value specified in minutes and is based on an estimate |
Installation Mode | The installation mode controls how the script/program will run in terms of user interaction. Select one of the following modes: Attended: The package will inform the end user that installation is about to be made. Log off: The script/package will ask the end user to log off prior to installation. This option is typically used if the installation requires that the OS is untouched by the end user during installation. The legal notice is changed to ensure that users doesn't log on mistakenly. Silent: The package will run in the background without informing the user Note: Using the SVS template installation mode has been moved to a separate section because of the multiple options |
Messagebox Language | Select the language in which messages from the script/program should be displayed to the end user. Choose a specific language or choose OS* *to show messages in the language chosen in regional and language options (Control panel). |
UninstallProcedure | This setting controls whether or not the Package Creator should generate an uninstall script/program. Select one of the following options: Yes: To create the uninstall script/program |
