PG 7.2
PerformanceGuard® 7.2 Release Notes
Release date: 2017, August 15th
What's New in the Server?
PerformanceGuard 7.2 introduces a new widget:
BTM
This widget provides a new and intuitive way to setup and compare Business Transaction Monitoring (BTM) measurements across individual computers as well as locations.
Miscellaneous Improvements
Unified login
Operators will no longer be prompted for the login password multiple times
Deep linking
Makes it possible to share or bookmark a dashboard with the same setup. To share, just send the URL by mail. Sharing directly from the interface will be supported in the next version of PerformanceGuard
REST API
PerformanceGuard now supports access to the data in the database using the REST API.
The API is versionized to ensure that any changes made to the API will not affect external access to the data
The REST API supports Cross Origin Resource Sharing (CORS)
Browser Support
This version is supported in both Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 as well as Google Chrome.
We recommend using Google Chrome when accessing PerformanceGuard, because this browser is much faster than Internet Explorer 11
Windows Performance Counters
PerformanceGuard now supports Object names, Counter names and Instance names up to 4096 characters each. Previous limit was 64 characters
Installation and Upgrades
Clean installation of a PerformanceGuard database now uses the database server properties to place files in the default location. Previously the default location in the installer was the folder where the Master database was placed
If upgrading from PerformanceGuard 6.6 or earlier the following is required:
- Upgrade of the Java SE Development Kit to version 8.Â
- This can be downloaded from here:Â http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html
- Microsoft .Net 4.0 or higher
If upgrading from PerformanceGuard 6.7 or later:
- Two web server ports instead of previously one port
- Used for embedding the parts of the UI that have not yet been replaced by new functionality
DocumentationÂ
The PerformanceGuard documentation is continuously updated and is available online here.
Within PerformanceGuard, the documentation is available via content-aware links, and updates to the documentation no longer requires an upgrade of the PerformanceGuard software.
