Adobe Acrobat Product Naming

In April 2015, Adobe introduced the Document Cloud (DC) product line and added the DC term to all affected products.

At the same time, they introduced the 64-bit Unified App Installer.

The Unified App Installer contains Acrobat Reader, Acrobat Standard, and Acrobat Pro.

Installations made with the Unified App Installer are displayed as Adobe Acrobat DC (64-bit) in add/remove programs, and the “active” product is determined by the subscription.

You can use Adobe Acrobat DC (64-bit) without a subscription, but you will only get access to the standard features in Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Adobe didn’t include any of their 32-bit applications in the Unified App Installer, and as a result, the 32-bit version of Adobe Reader is still presented as Adobe Acrobat Reader DC in add/remove programs.

In October 2022, Adobe removed the DC term from their product line to simplify product naming.

The change was effected on October 11, when the product versions changed from 22.002 to 22.003

To match the product names that are displayed in add/remove programs, we have renamed the applications in CapaPacks and removed all versions prior to 22.003
