What's New in the Server?
Automatic Agent Update
With version 8.2 of the agent, enrolling the agent in an automatic upgrade program is possible. The registering is administered using an agent configuration Group. When enabled, the agent will periodically check for new releases, which it will download and install. Read more here.
Built-in download of Agent Installer
The agent can be downloaded directly from PerformanceGuard in the browser by pressing the download button. It will always download the latest released version of the agent after the release of version 8.2. Read more here.
Configure how the agent shall be installed
Dashboard Slideshow
Dashboard slideshows are a way for the user to view multiple different dashboards without swapping between dashboards. Read more here.
Setup which dashboards should be part of the Slideshow, then press play.
What's going on Dashboards
Gives an global overview of poorly performing computers and processes, based on their CPU, Memory or Diskspace usage. The Dashboard makes it possible to dive into computers to see what resources individual processes are actually using. Read more here.

Updated Network Application Creation Dialog
We have shined up the network application dialog such that changes and updates are more comfortable to cancel and misconfigurations are harder to make.

What's New in the Agent?
Automatic Agent Update
The new agent-installer comes with a scheduled service, that, if enabled, downloads and installs new versions that has been released.
New Measurements
The agent now collects the computers UUID and Serial Number.
Miscellaneous improvements
If experiencing any Performance related issues on What's Going On Dashboards please run the following SQL to optimize the performance.
You must run this SQL only once.
Apply the following SQL on the PerformanceGuard backend database (pguard)
Attention: Running the following SQL script will take long time to finish depending on the data in the table.
- Open PerformanceGuard Server Manager
- Stop the Backend Service
- Open Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
- Login as pguard user on the backend database
- Open a new Query Window on pguard database
- Paste the SQL below
- TRUNCATE TABLE agent_total_counters
GO
TRUNCATE TABLE agent_total_ekstra_counters
GO
TRUNCATE TABLE agent_process_counters
GO - Run the statement ( Wait for it to return)
- Start the Backend Service again

Discontinuation
This is the latest release of PerformanceGuard Server that supports installation on Windows Server 2008/ 2008 R2 and 2012.
Internet explorer filters will be phased out and we recommend start using chromium filters from now.

Changes in JVM and LDAP (config.properties) Parameters are not updated before PG 8.3, i.e. you will need to copy them manually.
