Introduction

Power management in Configuration Management revolves around three types of objects

  • Power schemes
  • Power scheme groups
  • Units

    A power scheme is a set of configurative settings that mirror those of Microsoft's Windows Power Management. The settings specify how the operating system will act in various situations. For example how long the pc can be idle without going in to standby.
     
    A power scheme group is an object that links power schemes with the units and determines when to apply which power scheme to its members.
     
    Units, or in this case computers, can be added to a power scheme group, and only one. It must be removed from its current group, before adding it to another.

Create a power scheme

Open CM/Groups/System Groups/Power Management/. Right-click Power Schemes and click Create.
 

Create a power scheme group

Open CM/Groups/System Groups/Power Management/. Right-click Power Scheme Groups and click Create.
 

Add a power scheme to a group

Drag a power scheme to a power scheme group. Open the properties window of the power scheme group. Select a power scheme and time, and click add.
 

Add a unit to a power scheme group

Drag a unit to a power scheme group. Add the unit to the buffer and paste it on the power scheme group.
 

Remove a power scheme from a group

Open the properties window of the power scheme group. Select a power scheme and select remove.
 

Remove a unit from a power scheme group

Open _CM/Groups/System Groups/Power Management/Power Scheme Groups/_ click the group. Find the unit in the content view and select unlink.
