Printer management
Introduction
Configuration Management enables you to manage printer details and assign printers to computers and users throughout your organization. Create a central repository of printer information, including share name, printer name, location, capacity and other details, including custom parameters that you can create and manage using Asset Management.
Â
- Assign printers to users and/or user groups. Users will then be able to print to their assigned printers automatically no matter where they log in on the network and without needing to configure printer settings in Windows.
- Assign printers to computers and/or computer groups. All users of a given computer will then be able to print to its configured printers automatically without needing to configure printer settings manually.
- Change printer assignments on-the-fly, with updates distributed throughout your organization.
- Optionally, you can enforce your central printer assignments, thereby preventing users from saving unauthorized printer configurations (though temporary local configurations will still be possible).
